Overview

OfficeWriter for Word offers the ability to dynamically create Word documents over the web without the need for Microsoft Office on the Server. From day one our OfficeWriter reporting tools have been designed and engineered for the server guaranteeing excellent performance with a limited footprint. Taking advantage of existing knowledge and software, OfficeWriter for Word provides feature rich Word documents from any datasource via ad-hoc or batch process reporting.

   If using WordWriter in classic ASP, the COM-callable wrapper requires the 2005 C++ SP1 Redistributable  

Java Server: 
 
Please note: OfficeWriter for the Java™ platform is no longer available for purchase. However, it is still possible to offer native Excel and Word reports from your front-end Java™ Web application through a Web Service.

Reporting Services Integration Requirements:  

Operating Systems:
Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server, Vista, or 2008 Server
64-bit Operating Systems are supported

MS SQL Server Reporting Services
Microsoft .NET Framework Redistributable version 2.0 or later

To run the Reporting Services samples, SQL Server 2005 or 2008 and the AdventureWorks database must be installed. 
 
  
Database Requirements: 
 
MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL and all major databases (all JDBC 2.0 compliant databases on a Java™ system)

Reporting Services Integration - If you plan to use OfficeWriter with SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 or 2008, an additional database requirement is that you have SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 or 2008 installed on the server.
