A time saving add-in product for Microsoft Excel

Shift words from one cell to the next with just the click of a button!

The Word Shifter for Microsoft Excel adds the following toolbar to Microsoft Excel:

Selecting cells and clicking on the right arrow button shifts the last word to the next cell.  If there are entries in the next cell, the word is put at the front of the right hand cell entries.  Clicking on the left arrow button shifts the first word of the selected cells to the left, and appends to the end of the left hand cell entries.  This allows you to correct any mistakes if you click the right arrow too many times.

The following represents some data where the city needs to be separated from the street address.  Some of the cities are one word city names.  Some are two word city names.

If done manually, one would have to edit each cell, delete the city name and type it into the cell to the right. With the Word Splitter, one first selects all five cells and clicks the right arrow button. The following is the result of this intermediate step:

The first two rows are fine. However, New York and San Francisco need the words "New" and "San" shifted to column B.  Selecting cells A3 and A4 and clicking the right arrow button again results in the following:

Thus, the Word Shifter does in two clicks what would have taken many manual edits and many minutes to do.  And, if you click too many times, the left arrow button allows you to move shifted words back to the left.
