Use Browse when you're not sure of the exact name or spelling or if you want to see products grouped by type, such as all leisure products or accounts packages. Select one of our main categories listed or click the "Browse by Brand" or "Browse by Category" links. Sometimes, you may have to select more than one subcategory before you see a full list of products.
Using QuickSearch to perform a keyword search is generally the fastest and most convenient way to find something if you know the name of a product, the manufacturers name or the product code. Start your Search by entering one or more keywords in the QuickSearch box provided near the top of each page and click the "Go" button. Don't find a match? You might try browsing instead as it's possible that your product is listed by a different name.
To enter more than one keyword leave a space between each word. Your results will contain all of the keywords entered. For example, if you enter "Microsoft Office", only products titles that contain the exact phrase "Microsoft" and "Office" will appear in the search results.
More hints for using our Search Engine
If your search did not find what you were looking for, try the following:
Do not use long phrases, just key words, i.e. don't use "Faxing from Visual Basic", use "Fax."
Start with a single, short and simple keyword. If you get too many results, add additional keywords to limit the results.
Don't use generic words like "Control" "Component", "OCX", "ActiveX",
"Software", "Program", etc. unless they are part of the name of a product for which you are searching.
Don't use version numbers with product names in your search, i.e. don"t use "True DBGrid v7.0"; use "DBGrid" instead.
Try putting spaces in Vendor Name and Product Names where appropriate. We often see search misses where people type a name like "DataDynamics"
when the vendor spells it as "Data Dynamics"
, or "CrystalReports"
when the product name is "Crystal Reports."
We have tried to "tweak" the data in our database so these types of searches will match anyway, but we won't be able to match in all cases.
Configure your search based on how our search engine works. It accepts any number of words seperated by spaces and requires a match on each word as you have typed them. It does not use sophisticated "ANDs," "ORs", parenthesis, or quoting.
Our search engine was designed for locating Products by Keywords, Category, Manufacturer/Publisher/Vendor name, Product name, and Free Text within our limited product descriptions.
FYI:We have analyzed and will continue to analyze what people are searching for. Using this information, we are constantly "tweaking" our data so you'll likely get a better match in the future than today.
More FYI: We are constantly looking to see what products you search for that we don't yet carry for ideas on what to add to our (already extensive) product lines.
Using Advanced Search is best for narrowing down product sets or searching for a group of products with particular features. You can refine your search based on one or more of the following criteria:
Categories
Manufacturers
Operating System Platform
(Upper) Price Limit
Keyword(s)
